The clients for this sprawling house wanted a blend of modern and classical Mediterranean architecture. The interior designer (Mickey Akerman of Amirob) dubbed this blend “Floridian” and that became our theme. We combined some very contemporary elements (glass block and sweeping curves) with traditional elements (barrel tile roof and arched windows). And maybe a little bit of Addison Mizner (the architect who set the style for 1920s Palm Beach mansions) for good measure.
