One of Denver’s premier landscape companies is Designs by Sundown. Many of our projects have been enhanced by the landscaping expertise of DBS. It finally came time for DBS to have a new headquarters building on a beautiful site along the Platte river in Denver’s south-suburban area. The owner wanted something “like a barn” to reflect the pastoral nature of the site. We came up with a contemporary interpretation of an old ranch barn, but still clearly a functioning modern office building. Recycled barn wood and corrugated metal are the main materials. The “silo” houses a grand circular stairway leading to a second floor design studio. The main floor is primarily clerical and installation staff.
